Interview Study Eth Consensus Layer (call for interviewees)

Hi all!

I am a researcher at the University of Amsterdam, and I am currently working on a research project that is focused on the Ethereum consensus layer. More specifically, I aim to understand the decision-making processes of key actors like builders, relay operators, validators, and organizations providing services related to consensus layer tasks, particularly also in the context of MEV.

I have previously worked on this question on the basis of quantitative data, but I am now aiming to conduct interviews, as practical insights would be extremely valuable in properly understanding the data patterns that I have identified in previous work. Since Flashbots has a large presence and is a very important party in the Ethereum consensus layer for all the categories of actors that I am doing research on, I wanted to ask if there is anyone in the Flashbots Community (developers, builders, MEV relay users, etc.) who would be willing to participate in the interview study (it’s fully anonymous), or in any other way be willing to share their ideas on this topic.

If anyone would be willing to serve as an interviewee, I would be really grateful, as your insights are of high importance for understanding the dynamics of the Ethereum consensus layer, and its role in shaping a decentralized and resilient ecosystem.

What to expect:

  • A 60-minute semi-structured interview.

  • Full anonymity: your responses will remain confidential.

  • The results will be used in an anonymous manner, and will be used to produce a report and academic publications.

  • A summary of the research findings will be shared with you.

If you are interested in participating or would like to receive more information, feel free to reach out to me! I have also linked my LinkedIn and University email below, in case you’d like to reach out through there.

If you are willing to help out/share your ideas in another way, I’d also be very grateful!

Thanks a lot in advance!

Best,
Stefanie Boss
