If you use the flashbots builder, then your CL client does not connect to another EL client. The builder is based on geth, so, if you enable the --builder flag and whichever other related flags you require, you will have a builder and an EL client.
You don’t need to use the flashbots prysm fork. Any CL client will work, according to this:
